Summer has ended but who doesn’t love a good glass of freshly juice? Well I’ve got just the treat for you – honestly! This is a juice I want to drink everyday, it’s so refreshing and delightful to the tastebuds! Citrus Juice with Green Tea and Honey is a great drink to have with your meals or just when you want some extra vitamin C. Not only are you getting key vitamins from this drink but the infusion of green tea will leave you feeling relaxed and detoxified. What’s great about this drink is that you can serve it warm or cold – it’s down to you! So let’s get straight into the recipe!

Ingredients

  • 250 ml green tea
  • 4½ oranges
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 limes
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary
  • 1½ tablespoons honey

Instructions:

1. Brewing the Green Tea
Boil the kettle to prepare 250 ml of green tea. No need to cool down to room temperature but if you prefer your drink cold then do so or leave it in the fridge (you can also add ice cubes at the end).

2. Preparing the Citrus Fruits
Start by peeling 4 oranges and then cut them into quarters. Next take one lemon and slice it into 4 thin, round slices. For the limes, quarter 2 of them. These little lime quarters will add some zing to our juice.

3. Blend! Blend! Blend!
In a blender jug, add the peeled oranges, 1½ tablespoons of honey, and the green tea. Blend until smooth, and you’re left with a glorious, citrus-infused green tea base. Based on your preference, strain the juice to remove any pulp. Use a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth to achieve that perfect consistency.

4. Now for the assembly
Take a drinking glass and place 2 orange slices, 2 lemon slices, and 3-4 lime quarters inside. Gently press down on the fruit slices with a muddler. This will release their aromatic oils and flavors, giving your juice an extra kick. Now let’s pour in the freshly squeezed orange juice and green tea mixture. Look at all those colours!

5. Garnish and Serve
We all love a good garnish for that extra panache. Garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary. Sophistication!

FAQs when making Citrus Juice with Green Tea and Honey

  1. Do I need to strain the juice after blending? This is entirely up to you. Straining the juice after blending only allows for a smoother texture without any pulp. If you enjoy a slightly thicker texture, you can skip this step.
  2. Can I adjust the sweetness level of the juice? Certainly! The amount of honey can be adjusted to suit your taste preferences – Personally I felt that 1 and a half tablespoons was just right. Taste and adjust as needed.
  3. What can I use as a substitute for rosemary if I don’t have it on hand? If you don’t have fresh rosemary, you can a couple of mint or basil leaves as an alternative garnish.
  4. How long can I store this juice in the refrigerator? For the best and freshest flavour, it is best to drink the juice immediately. However, if you have any excess juice then you can store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours. When ready to drink, be sure to stir or shake it before serving.
